Winter Sight-Reading Party 2016 by Shirley Zhang

While all the Econ majors at UChicago donned their business formal clothes (even though the dress code is business casual) for the Winter Career Fair, CMO board members were getting ready for the Winter Sight-reading Party.

Okay, so that’s not entirely true. Three CMO members definitely went to the career fair, and only one of them is an Econ major. Incidentally, it was only the Econ major who was wearing business formal.

Either way, we all went to the sight-reading party. My favorite of sight-reading party days is going to the Reg carrying my huge suitcase, filing it with chamber music, and checking it out. (I told anyone who asked why I was carrying a suitcase that I was moving to the Reg.) The worst part of sight-reading party days is having to lug this suitcase full of music to Logan. Of course, the actual event was pretty fun, too. It’s always nice seeing not only Walter show up with his cello, but also some new faces, especially on such dreary days as that Friday, January 15, was.
